8/20/2012 - Day 6

This morning when I went to work, I put Penny in bed with Scott. Once she calmed down, they cuddled nicely.

Penny went potty outside today!!! I'm so excited!!! As soon as I got home I let the dogs play outside for a while and Penny peed! :) She's used the puppy pad as well so far today.

She watched a little tv and decided to take all her toys out of her basket, lol!

Bailey girl also helped Penny out with her Kong binkie.

8/19/2012 - Day 5

Penny had a visit to the vet for the first time. She was 3.5lbs! She's in great health, yay!

So Sunday was the big day! We surprised both of our parents by inviting them to dinner and they got to see Penny.

Our first "family" photo!

Lilly (Mom's shih tzu) liked the bed I made as well!

She's hilarious!
What a great dinner, we had so much fun. Penny is so playful and fun. We're so happy that mom brought over Lilly. For the first time, Penny actually got to play with someone close to her size. (Bailey boy won't play with her) Mom will be puppy sitting on Tuesday while I have band practice, so Penny will get to play again!

8/18/2012 - Day 4

Another fun filled day with Penny. All three dogs went to the groomer today. While both Bailey's have been before, it was Penny's first time, so it was very exciting. Kelly, from the High Point, NC Petsmart, gave Penny her first hair cut.

She was so adorable when she came home. I put the pink bows with ice cream cones in her hair when we went out. So when she was all finished Kelly put the bows back in her hair. So cute!!!

Penny also was very determined to get down off of the couch, and so today, she did! That was quite a big jump for her!!!

Scott and Penny just look so adorable, don' t they??? :)

Penny was in a very playful mood today. She played with Bailey girl, couldn't seem to leave my toes alone, and finally tuckered down to rest... I saw a video on how to make a dog bed, and so I decided to make one myself and I discovered today she likes to find small things and try and eat them. In the process of trying to make the bed, she kept trying to tug on the fleece. At one point, she found one of the scraps, which I had to pull out of her throat, that was a bit of a scare...

However, on a happy note, with Penny's inspiration, I've decided I'm going to proceed with my plans of selling dog products.

I'm going to make and sell:
Hair Bows
Bandanas
Beds
Blankets
(and maybe at some point, Clothes)

Once I design the site, I'll list it, so that if you see anything you like on Penny's blog, you can find it on the site.

8/17/2012 - Day 3

Scott had the morning with Penny and took some pictures on his phone which I'll post later with an update...

So today was a long day at work and I was so tired... I got home and took the dogs outside, and of course, Penny still won't go potty outside. At least she's pretty reliable about using the puppy pad. I was going to take a quick nap on the couch, but the stupid fire alarm kept beeping because the battery was dying. I decided to take a nap in the bed, and I figured, it's just a quick nap, so I brought Penny in bed with me, and no sooner did I get in bed, she pooped. My bad...

So although I don't have many pictures in today's post, I want to thank my dad again for giving me the camera, as I wouldn't have been able to get so many great pictures of Penny, and the house without it. THANKS DAD!

Two more day's until Scott and I surprise our parents with Penny. We invited them both over on Sunday to have dinner. The menu: Salad, Grilled Chicken, Potato Salad, and Corn on the Cob.

Penny's adventures of the day...

She took a nap with me in the bed and pooped in the bed, yuck!
She went down the deck stairs all by herself.
Running super fast in the yard, and the house.
She took a nap with Scott on the couch.

8/16/2012 - Day 2

Penny has been such a wonderful dog and she has such a great personality! She is constantly learning new things and exploring the world around her.

Penny making sure that no one else takes her bone.

I can't seem to get enough pictures of Penny. While she is definitely one smart cookie, we're going to need some help with obedience training. Scott and I checked several places, and it turns out, that Petsmart works out great with our schedules. I signed us up today for the puppy class that starts on August 27th at 3pm and runs for 6 weeks with a graduation ceremony at the end. We'll have that canine good citizen certificate from AKC in no time.

Is she photogenic or what?

Penny found the water!

Yep, the nose is still there...
Penny's Adventures of the day...
- Got her teeth brushed
- Went up all the deck stairs on her own
- Registered for puppy training class
- Had her hair brushed
- Survived another night in her crate

On a side note. I love shutterfly! I just ordered a magnet for the refrigerator with a picture of Penny on it. (The first picture on the page)

Penny's Bio with Vaccine info

Her "I'm Ready to Come Home" Paper as presented by Patt Glass - Breeder Extraordinare

I was born on June 12, 2012 in the afternoon. I have three sisters and one brother. I had my dew claws remover when I was 3 days old. My mom is blonde and white and weights approximately 9 lbs. My dad is blonde and brindle and weights approximately 12 lbs. My parents are on Iverhart so they don't get heartworms and Frontline Plus for fleas and ticks.

I started eating gruel at 4 1/2 weeks and really liked it. By the age of 6 weeks, I was eating mush and nursing once a day. By 7 weeks of age, I no longer nursed and was eating mush and some hard food. I am still waiting on my front teeth to come in, so I eat softened Beneful Puppy Chow. My mom puts a small dish of hard food out for me also and I eat a little of that too. I am doing pretty good with the pad and mom takes me outside in the morning and in the evening after I eat so that I can take care of business outside.

I love to play with toys and I chew on the rubber ones but I like to play with the furry ones that squeak. I play with my brother and sisters and sometimes we fight. We are establishing our "pecking order".

On July 15, 2012, I received my parvo vaccine of 1 ml of Duramune Max Pv. On August 6, 2012, I received my first 5-way shot of Canine Spectra 5. At 4 weeks, 6 weeks, and 8 weeks, I was wormed with Nemex-2.

I turned  9 weeks old on August 14.

My mom is really going to miss me when I leave her. She would love to see pictures of me as I grow, so this is her e-mail address to send pictures of me!! (I won't post Pat's e-mail, but it was listed here)

8/15/2012 - Penny's First Day Home!

Pat and I had a wonderful visit before taking Penny home. She was so nice to give Penny a bath and blow dry her so she smelled wonderful and was nice and fluffy. It was really hard for everyone to see Penny leave, but we said our good byes and left to begin our new adventure together. I brought Bailey's old doggy bed so Penny would be comfortable on the ride home. She, however, wanted nothing to to with anything but trying to get over to me.

We had so many new experiences in the first day! Penny was introduced to both my Bailey and Scott's Bailey. They all got along pretty well. Both of our Bailey's weren't too sure what to think about Penny at first...

Scott and I, however, fell in love with her instantaneously!  It was so hard not to take a million pictures of her!!! Here are a quite a few...

Thank you Natasha for getting these flowers for me!!!
Penny all dressed up curious what Scott is doing!

Bailey and Penny meet...
Bailey's gift! (His old puppy toy...)

Penny went up the stairs all on her own!

Penny with her littermates and getting her bath to come home!!!

 Penny's Adventures of the Day:
Getting a bath and getting blow dried
Going in a car ride
Coming to a new home
Getting a new pink crate
Getting Bailey's old bed
Going Shopping at Petsmart
Getting Bailey's old puppy toy
Getting the teething bone toy
Had two accidents, but landed everything else on the puppy pads.
Got a new dress and collar
Spent the first night in her crate
Went up the deck stairs all on her own

Funny Story:
We tried to put Penny's crate in our bedroom, but every time she would cry, Bailey girl would jump down off the bed, resulting in Bailey boy barking. Not a pleasant sleeping arrangement. So, we moved Penny's crate back to the living room, and then closed the door with Bailey girl and Penny out the living room and Bailey boy in bed with us!
